Following is some information from our registration packet.
Who We Are and How We Are Organized
We are Streetsboro Cub Scout Pack #3280, celebrating over 40 years of sponsorship by American Legion Post 685! We are open to boys and girls in grades 1 through 5. In Cub Scouts, the “Pack” refers to all scouts in grades 1 through 5. The scouts are also divided by grade level into smaller groups called “Dens”:

Cub Scouting is a national program with well-defined guidelines, but it is entirely run by parents. In our Pack many parents volunteer in various ways to ensure our program is a success.
For more details please see this Parent Information Packet or visit this website hosted by the Boy Scouts of America.
What We Do
Cub Scouting is a year-round program. In our Pack most activity occurs during the school year, but we try to offer at least one Pack event each month during the summer to keep the boys engaged in the program.
Activities consist of a combination of meetings and special Pack events. Dens typically meet twice monthly (on Tuesday evenings). The entire Pack meets once monthly (with the primary focus being to award recognition to each scout's achievements in scouting) and to go over Pack Level activities (Pinewood Derby. Camping, etc.)
Our special Pack events have included:
- Halloween Campout at Mohican Wilderness
- Cub Haunted Weekend at Camp Beaumont (in Rock Creek)
- Haunted Hayride at Camp Butler (in Peninsula)
- Raingutter Regatta (boat race)
- Winter Campout at Camp Butler (in Peninsula)
- Pinewood Derby (car race)
- Blue & Gold Banquet (special awards banquet)
- Pack Sock Battle
- Cub Scout Summer Day Camp
- Webelos Resident Camp
How much does it cost?
The registration cost for new members for the school year is $85 for National Registration Fee and a $85 Adventure Fee (to Great Trail Council) and helps to cover the following costs
- National Registration Fees
- Advancements & Awards
- Cub Scout Freeze Out
- Target & Range Sports Day
- Cub Adventure Day or Webelos Adventure Woods
- District Pinewood Derby
- Summertime Pool Party
- Summertime Guided Hike
- $10 camping credit in Unit Account
- Pack T-Shirt by rank
- $15 discount for Day Camp or $25 discount for Cub Scout Overnight camp
- Several free Pack events
Each new scout will also need to purchase a uniform at a cost of approximately $35 (see the Uniform Guidelines sheet for more details). A subscription to the monthly Boy's Life magazine is available at an additional cost of $15 annually if the family chooses.
Starting in 2025, much of our program's costs will be covered by the sale of Pecatonica River brand popcorn, which is our Pack's major annual fundraiser. We expect all scouts to participate in this fundraiser to help fund the Pack, since proceeds from the sales go directly towards reducing the cost of Pack events. The popcorn window was missed in 2024, so additional fundraising will be announced shortly. .
